JournalBuddy ("the app") is developed by AI Discovery Lab ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: JournalBuddy does not collect, transmit, store, or share any of your personal data off your device.
None. JournalBuddy has no user accounts, no servers, and no analytics. We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, device identifiers, or usage data.
Your voice recordings are transcribed into text and saved as journal entries only in local storage on your device. These entries never leave your phone, are not uploaded to any server, and are not accessible to us or any third party.
When you record an entry, the app uses your device's on-device speech recognition to convert speech to text. Audio is processed locally on your device and is not sent to us or to external servers for transcription. The app requests microphone and speech-recognition permission solely to provide this feature.
If you enable the app lock, JournalBuddy uses Face ID (or your device passcode) through Apple's authentication system to unlock the app. The app only receives a success/failure result. Your biometric data is managed entirely by iOS and is never exposed to, accessed by, or stored by the app.
You can choose to share or export an individual entry using your device's standard share sheet. This happens only when you explicitly initiate it, and you control where the content goes. We are not involved in and do not receive any shared content.
JournalBuddy does not include third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs, and does not sell or share data with anyone. There is no data to sell or share.
The app is rated 4+ and does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Because all data is stored locally, you control it entirely. Deleting an entry removes it from your device. Deleting the app removes all associated journal data from your device.
If we change how the app handles data (for example, if a future version adds optional cloud features), we will update this policy and the app's App Store privacy details before that version is released.
